Clean Energy Grid Upgrades

Transitioning to 100 percent clean electricity is critical to tackling the climate crisis. It presents a huge economic opportunity, and it is extremely popular, with the majority of people supporting government investment in this critical transition. Rapid deployment of clean renewable energy sources – like wind, solar, and geothermal – must be paired with policies to improve energy efficiency, energy storage, electricity transmission, and on our grids. The Inflation Reduction Act’s affordable clean energy plan contained additional federal administrative authority and a number of incentives to encourage grid improvements that build upon existing authorities. We must ensure communities are engaged in building clean energy, so we do not repeat the racial and economic inequities set up by fossil fuels.
