CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
Representative Doris Matsui is running for a 10th term to represent California’s 7th Congressional District. Matsui previously served in the Clinton administration in the White House Office of Public Liaison. She has prioritized making Sacramento a leading city for clean energy and has introduced numerous pieces of legislation to help grow clean energy businesses. In Congress, Matsui will use her positions as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and co-chair of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition to promote clean energy and encourage action on climate change. Representative Matsui has earned a 97% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
