CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Tina Shah is running to represent New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Dr. Tina Shah is triple board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine – she has spent her career caring for patients in the ICU, fighting to protect access to care in New Jersey, and leading federal policy. She also served under three White House administrations As Senior Advisor to the U.S. Surgeon General. If elected to Congress, she is committed to working to secure funding for New Jersey to modernize the aging electrical grid and lower costs by raising the supply and making data centers pay for the electricity they use, restore funding cuts for climate resilient infrastructure projects to guard against flooding and rising sea levels along New Jersey’s coasts. She is also committed to fighting to protect the decades-old environmental policies that safeguard our clean air, water, and land.
