Representative Robert Garcia is running for a second term to represent California’s 42nd Congressional District. After immigrating to the United States with his mother, Robert Garcia has dedicated his career to fighting for our planet and communities. As Mayor of Long Beach, the city passed an aggressive climate action plan to end the city’s reliance on fossil fuels while protecting and expanding good-paying jobs. In 2022, he made history by becoming the first LGBTQ immigrant to serve in Congress. During his first term, he has fought for investments in green jobs and investments to electrify California's buses. Representative Garcia has earned a 100% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
