CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Kishla Askins is running to represent Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. She has served as a Naval Officer, and a Physician Assistant with the U.S. Marines. She later served as Senior Defense Advisor to Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly, congressional liaison to the Surgeon General of the Navy, senior military advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, and, most recently as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Veterans Affairs under the Biden–Harris Administration.
