CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Chris Pappas is running for a fourth term to represent New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District. He previously served two terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, two terms as Hillsborough County Treasurer and served on the state’s Executive Council. Pappas is the fourth-generation owner of his family’s Manchester restaurant, the Puritan Backroom. He is an advocate for increased investments in clean energy and has opposed drilling off of New Hampshire’s coast. In Congress, he will continue to fight for strong environmental safeguards and advocate for action on climate change. Representative Pappas has earned a stellar lifetime score of 98% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard. Representative Pappas is endorsed by LCV Action Fund and NRDC Action Fund.
