CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Susan Wild is running for a fourth term to represent Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District. Wild has had a successful law career that has spanned thirty years with much of it spent as a litigator. Wild was also the first female Solicitor of the City of Allentown.  She has described herself as an “ardent environmentalist” and her priorities in Congress include banning fracking on public lands, protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, developing renewable technologies, and demanding equity in our environmental policies.

One of the first bills Wild cosponsored after coming to Congress was the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, legislation to encourage clean energy development and reduce our carbon footprint. It's not just an environmental imperative to power our country through renewables, it's also an economic priority. Wild believes the climate crisis can be an opportunity to create millions of good-paying jobs that can't be outsourced, and that we must embrace that opportunity. Representative Wild has earned a stellar lifetime score of 97% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard. Representative Wild is endorsed by LCV Action Fund and NRDC Action Fund.
