CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost is running for a second term to represent Florida's 10th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. A native of Orlando, Frost’s first experience in politics was as a fellow for President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. He spent the 2016 election first as a field organizer for Hillary Clinton’s campaign and then as the Deputy State Director for MoveOn. He was the Florida organizer for Democracy Spring before working on a number of political campaigns. Frost then served as deputy communications director for Floridians for a Fair Shake before serving as the field manager for the Amendment 4 campaign for the ACLU of Florida, which restored voting rights to over 1.6 million Floridians who had previous felony convictions. Frost served as a national organizing specialist for the ACLU and then as national advance manager for Senator Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign. Frost then spent almost two years as the national organizing director for March for Our Lives, the gun violence prevention advocacy group that began after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. He has called climate change “the greatest challenge facing our country and the world,” and pledged to push for passage of the Green New Deal, the THRIVE Act,  the Civilian Climate Corps, and to crackdown on polluters and “ensure that every community has clean water, access to food and clean air.” As a member of the House Subcommittee on Environment, he will continue to fight for pro-climate policies and champion environmental justice issues. Representative Frost has earned a 100% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
