CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Jake Auchincloss is running for a third term representing Massachusetts's 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to serving in Congress, Auchincloss was a member of the Newton City Council since 2015. After graduating from Harvard, he joined the Marines, commanding infantry in Afghanistan and special operations in Panama and is now a major in the reserves. In addition to his work on the city council, Auchincloss worked on housing and transportation at Liberty Mutual's innovation lab. On the city council, he chaired the transportation & public safety committee and was a member of the land use committee, working at the intersections of housing and racial justice, and transportation and the environment. In Congress, he will fight the climate crisis by investing in good-paying clean energy jobs like offshore wind and advocate for community climate justice, including clean water for all. Representative Auchincloss has earned an impressive 97% lifetime score on LCV's National Environmental Scorecard
