Hillary Scholten

Representative Hillary Scholten is running for a second term to represent Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District. Scholten was born and raised in western Michigan. After receiving her degree in social work, she worked for the Aids Action Committee and the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington. Scholten then graduated from law school, clerked for the immigration unit of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and then the U.S. Department of Justice during the Obama administration. She and her family moved back to Grand Rapids where she worked at the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center as an attorney and provided volunteer legal advice for the Times Up Legal Defense Fund. Scholten is running for Congress to protect Michigan's clean water, advance sustainable agriculture and build our clean energy future.
