Yes on CA Prop 50
WHY THIS MATTERS
- Yes on 50: the Election Rigging Response Act is Governor Newsom's Ballot Measure Committee in support of Prop 50 in California
- It will create five new, Democratic-leaning districts in California to neutralize the five new solidly-Republican districts from Texas
- This ballot measure is a temporary response to neutralize the Republican attempt to rig the upcoming 2026 elections in their favor - high turnout for this special election is needed to ensure this ballot measure passes
BACKGROUND
Yes on 50, the Election Rigging Response Act is a ballot measure proposed by Governor Gavin Newsom. On November 4th, Californians will have the opportunity to vote for Prop 50, a ballot measure that will create five new, Democratic-leaning districts in California.
This ballot measure is a direct response to neutralize the power grab and level the playing field for the 2026 midterm elections after Donald Trump demanded that Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Legislature redraw the state’s Congressional maps and create five new, solidly-Republican districts.
If this ballot measure does not pass, it will be incredibly difficult to win the House majority next year, and Donald Trump’s dangerous anti-democratic, pro-polluter agenda will remain unchecked. This gives us the best shot to neutralize their attempt to steal control of Congress and give us a fair fight next year. Two more years of an unchecked Donald Trump would have devastating effects on our ability to address the ever-worsening climate crisis.
