BACKGROUND
Vote Yes for Fair and Independent Courts is committed to preserving fair and independent judiciary in Pennsylvania. In the upcoming election, they will activate and mobilize Pennsylvania voters to retain three accomplished jurists endorsed by the PA Democratic Party: Justice Christine Donohue, Justice Kevin Dougherty, and Justice David Wecht.
These Justices have consistently upheld the law with integrity and independence. They have served the people of Pennsylvania—not special interests—and have demonstrated a strong commitment to protecting the freedoms and futures of hardworking Pennsylvanians. All three Justices are committed to safeguarding elections and preventing millions of legal votes from being thrown out by partisan lower court judges. They have protected clean air and water and held corporate interests accountable for stealing wages from their employees.
Justice Christine Donohue
Justice Christine Donohue was born in Schuylkill County and raised in nearby Carbon County. She is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University and the Duquesne University School of Law. She worked as a civil trial lawyer and litigator for nearly three decades. She served on the Pennsylvania Superior Court for 8 years prior to being elected to the Supreme Court in 2015.
Justice Kevin Dougherty
Justice Kevin Dougherty grew up in Philadelphia where he became the first person in his family to attend college, graduating from Temple University. After graduating from Antioch School of Law, Justice Dougherty went on to serve on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas for 14 years. In 2015, he was elected to serve on the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Justice David Wecht
Justice David Wecht was raised in Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School. Prior to joining the Supreme Court in 2015, he served on the Pennsylvania Superior Court and the Court of Common Pleas for Pennsylvania’s Fifth Judicial District.
