CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Wes Moore is running for reelection for Governor of Maryland. He is a veteran, bestselling author, former nonprofit CEO, and a relentless fighter for economic opportunity.

Before taking office, he deployed to Afghanistan as a part of the 82nd Airborne Division. He later served as CEO of the Robin Hood Foundation, one of the largest poverty fighting organizations in the country.

In 2022, Wes Moore made history when he was elected Maryland’s first Black governor and only the third Black governor elected in U.S. history. As Governor, he has led efforts to increase clean and renewable energy on the grid, invest in more sustainable transportation infrastructure, protect the Chesapeake Bay, and foster a clean and growing economy in Maryland with a workforce prepared to support it.
