BACKGROUND

Tina Kotek is running for reelection for Governor of Oregon. As Governor, she has been an incredible climate leader and has worked to protect Oregon’s land, water, and air. As Governor, she signed an executive order to boost the climate resilience of Oregon’s state lands and waters and directed state agencies to include strategies to combat climate change in programs that affect state-owned land. She also signed legislation setting a goal of lowering utility bills by installing 500,000 high-efficiency heat pumps in homes and commercial buildings in Oregon and worked with lawmakers to strengthen Oregon’s wildfire response programs as well as support community resilience and readiness in the face of climate change.
