Candidate Background

Representative Rick Larsen is running for a 13th term to represent Washington’s 2nd Congressional District. Larsen previously served as Chair of the Snohomish County Council. Larsen has consistently used his position as a member of the House Transportation Committee to support efforts to address climate change, including introducing legislation to reduce carbon pollution from the airline industry. He has also consistently voted for clean energy incentives and against tax breaks for oil companies. In Congress, Larsen will continue to be a strong advocate for public lands in Washington State, building on the protections he already helped strengthen for the San Juan Islands, Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, and Illabot Creek. Representative Larsen has earned a 92% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
