CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Pennsylvania Representative Patty Kim is running for the open seat in the 15th Senatorial District in Pennsylvania. She is the first Asian-American ever elected to the Pennsylvania State House. As Representative, Patty has fought for more than a decade to offer a greener, more sustainable future for Pennsylvania, advocating for a 100% clean energy standard by 2050. She promotes environmental justice locally in Harrisburg, where many neighborhoods are food deserts that are underserved and bare the brunt of pollution and climate change. She has introduced bills to empower municipalities to fund their own recycling programs and incentivize cleaner energy. She’s also fought to protect our state parks and forests from drilling.

In the PA Senate, she will continue to lead the fight for cleaner energy, strong public transportation, and protecting green spaces. Representative Kim has earned an outstanding lifetime score of 94% on the Conservation Voters of PA lifetime scorecard.
