CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Mariana Sandoval graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary and Paralegal Studies from Los Angeles Mission College. Rep. Sandoval believes education is the great equalizer because it empowers our community to create sustainable futures. A safe and quality education should be affordable and accessible to all people, regardless of socioeconomic or immigration status. She has dedicated her career to public service as a paralegal in both nonprofit (legal aid) and government (Arizona Attorney General’s Office) sectors. While at the Arizona Attorney General's Office she represented the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and Arizona Game and Fish Departments working to protect our environment and wildlife, From January 2017 to December 2020, she served on the Agua Fria Union High School District Governing Board, and she continues her service as Ex-Officio Member on the Arizona Latino School Board Association Board. She was elected to serve in the Arizona State House of Representatives for Legislative District 23 in November 2022 and has remained in that role since January 2023.
