CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Kimberly Pope Adams is running to represent the 82nd House District in Virginia. She was born and raised in Hopewell, Virginia. The daughter of a Union Worker and a School Crossing Guard, she learned the value of hard work at an early age. For nearly two decades, she has served as a state Auditor and Accountant, protecting our tax dollars. In 2023, Kimberly Pope Adams ran the most competitive General Assembly race in Virginia, falling short by only 53 votes. Since then, she has been committed to educating her community on the importance of voting. Kimberly is running to deliver fiscally-responsible solutions, including balanced economic development, equitable access to broadband, good-paying job opportunities, expanded paid family and sick leave, access to reproductive care, smart investments in K-12, and higher teacher pay.
