CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Jacky Rosen serves as the Junior Senator of Nevada. She was elected to Congress in 2018. Rosen previously worked as a computer programmer and software developer. As the leader of her local synagogue, she helped facilitate the installation of solar panels at Ner Tamid – the largest solar energy project at a non-profit in Henderson. Rosen strongly supports clean energy in Nevada and sustainable communities that protect our health and environment and boost the economy. Since she’s been in Congress, she’s helped pass legislation to help protect Nevada lakes, funded clean energy initiatives, and fight climate change by investing millions in wildfire prevention.

Senator Rosen also helped pass the historic Inflation Reduction Act, which is set to bring an estimated $2.7 billion of investment in large-scale clean power generation and storage to Nevada by 2030. Because of tax credits contained in this clean energy plan, an estimated 75,000 Nevadans are expected to install solar panels on their rooftops. Senator Rosen has earned a 96% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard
