WHY THIS RACE MATTERS
- This race will help expand the pro-environment, pro-democracy majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court

CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
Chris Taylor is running for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She is a current Judge on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, where she has brought a deep understanding of the law and a commitment to ensuring everyone gets a fair shot in our judicial system.
She began her legal career as an attorney representing clients and ensuring they had access to justice. In 2020, she was appointed to the Dane County Circuit Court, and she was elected to that position the following year. In 2023, Judge Taylor was elected by voters in twenty-four counties to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, where she currently sits.
Her judicial philosophy is people-centered, grounded in making sure individuals get a fair chance in our courts, and that their Constitutional rights are protected. She is a strong advocate for maintaining the independence of the judiciary, which must also serve as a check on the other branches of government.
Prior to joining the bench, she served nearly a decade in the Wisconsin State Assembly, where she used her legal training to protect and enhance people’s rights, strengthen our democracy, and ensure access to affordable health care and fair wages. Prior to her legislative work, she was an attorney and policy director for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, where she defended constitutional rights and advocated for health care access for all and for each individual to make their own personal, private health care decisions.
