CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Betty McCollum is running for a 13th term to represent Minnesota’s 4th Congressional District. McCollum previously served in the state House and on the North St. Paul City Council. As the ranking Democrat on the House Appropriations Interior-Environment Subcommittee, McCollum has helped lead the efforts against attacks on our public lands. She has also fought against attacks on the EPA’s authority to cut carbon pollution, supported increased investments in clean energy, advocated for ending fossil fuel subsidies, and opposed the Keystone XL pipeline. In Congress, McCollum will continue to be a voice for taking action on climate change and increasing clean energy investments. Representative McCollum has earned a 95% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
