CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Ben McAdams is running to represent Utah’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a former Member of Congress and member of the Utah State Senate. During his career, he has passed legislation to reduce smog pollution, increase funding for energy efficiency programs and worked on landmark LGBTQ non-discrimination legislation in Salt Lake City.

He supports expanding clean energy, modernizing the electrical grid, and investing in transportation infrastructure that creates jobs and secures our energy future. He is committed to smart water policy and conservation efforts that keep the Great Salt Lake healthy even during seasons of drought. If elected to Congress, he will work to protect Utah’s public lands and national parks from being sold off and exploited.
