CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Jenn Hill, serving Alger, Baraga, Marquette, and the eastern two-thirds of Dickinson counties, is a steadfast infrastructure advocate and nonprofit leader dedicated to fostering a resilient Michigan. With a Master's in City Planning from MIT, Jenn has over two decades of experience leading national nonprofit initiatives focused on environmental protection, public health, arts, and youth mentorship, emphasizing the importance of connecting people with resources in a changing economy.

As Vice President of the Citizens Utility Board of Michigan, she championed consumer-first energy policies, addressing the UP's high electric rates by promoting collaboration among the region's County Commissioners to modernize aging infrastructure. At 5 Lakes Energy, her work furthered the adoption of electric vehicles and green building practices.

Elected twice to the Marquette City Commission before her 2022 State House victory, Jenn's tenure is marked by her commitment to bipartisan problem-solving and active community engagement. Recognized for her ability to listen and respect diverse viewpoints, she has effectively proposed climate resiliency initiatives and cut through bureaucratic challenges, always prioritizing the people's needs.

Jenn's legislative achievements include securing significant investments for the UP, supporting the historic clean energy and & climate action package making Michigan a national leader for a clean energy future, ensuring statewide free breakfast and lunch for students, repealing Right to Work laws, abolishing the retirement tax, safeguarding reproductive healthcare access and LGBTQ rights, fulfilling her campaign promises, and demonstrating her relentless advocacy for her constituents' welfare.
