CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Danny Davis is running for a 15th term to represent Illinois’s 7th congressional district. A win will protect a critical House ally. Davis previously served as a County Commissioner and Chicago Alderman. He has voted consistently to provide tax credits for clean energy, preserve EPA authority to regulate climate-altering carbon pollution, and protect clean water from dangerous chemicals. He has also championed environmental justice issues for communities of color. With Representative Barbara Lee (D-CA), he co-sponsored legislation to ensure that federal agencies take actions to assess and improve the health and environmental quality of the communities they serve. In Congress, Davis will continue to be an environmental champion. Representative Davis has earned a 93% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
