CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Brad Schneider is running for a sixth term representing Illinois’ 10th Congressional District. He previously served from 2013 to 2015. Prior to being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, Schneider was the owner of Cadence Consulting Group and Lead Out Capital Partners. In Congress Schneider has been vocal about the need to combat climate change and protect our environment. He not only is a member of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) but also applauded the new standards for carbon pollution from power plants and has consistently voted against attacks on the EPA’s authority to limit pollution. Schneider recognizes the benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency programs, which is why he cosponsored the Energy Savings Through Public-Private Partnerships Act, which would expand energy-saving contracts between federal agencies and private-sector companies. His main priority has been protecting the Great Lakes, advocating for a funding level of $300 million for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. He cosponsored the Invasive Fish and Wildlife Act to strengthen protections against invasive species and streamline the federal process to designate them as harmful. Representative Schneider has earned a 96% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
