Representative Raul Ruiz is running for a seventh term to represent California’s 25th Congressional District. Ruiz previously worked as a physician. As a member of the House Natural Resources Committee, he understands the link between environmental issues and public health, and is a member of both the bipartisan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Caucus and the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition. Ruiz has supported energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and worked to strengthen America’s energy independence through agreements between the private and public sector. In his district, he has worked to address high rates of asthma. In Congress, Ruiz will continue to make the public health case for addressing environmental issues and taking action on climate change. Representative Ruiz has earned a 95% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
