Senator Chris Coons was first elected to represent Delaware in the U.S. Senate in a 2010 special election. During his tenure in the Senate, he has been a strong defender of a clean energy economy and a consistent vote for environmental protections. Senator Coons’ first bill, the Job Creation Through Innovation Act, would extend grant programs for clean energy investments and green infrastructure projects. Coons has worked with members of Congress from neighboring states to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay, and continues to work to sustain the vital role the Bay plays in the Mid-Atlantic region.
