Transportation is now the largest source of emissions in the United States, and the majority of those emissions are generated in our metropolitan areas. The path to a net zero future needs to run through our urban centers. Even as cities stare down the barrel of that challenge, they are confronting an unprecedented threat to vital public transit systems, with the COVID decimating ridership in ways never seen before.
How are two of the country’s largest and most innovative cities - New York and San Francisco - rising to meet their current challenges while leveraging innovation and policy to improve safety, performance, and reduce carbon emissions? What role could a federal government play in leading to a renaissance in zero emission urban transportation?
Join Clean Transportation for Biden in a conversation with two luminaries, Jeff Tumlin of San Francisco DOT, and Polly Trottenberg of New York DOT, as they explore these topics.
