CANDIDATE BACKGROUND
Janet Mills is running to represent Maine in the U.S. Senate. She has spent her career in public office in Maine - she currently serves as Governor. She formerly served as Assistant Attorney General, District Attorney for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford Counties, and then later as Attorney General of Maine.
As Governor, she has supported efforts to build a clean energy economy that creates good-paying jobs around the state, and to end Maine’s dependence on expensive, harmful fossil fuels by using homegrown, renewable energy source
