CANDIDATE BACKGROUND

Representative Ann McLane Kuster is running for a seventh term to represent New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District. Kuster previously served as an attorney. A member of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, Kuster is a strong voice for New Hampshire’s environment and addressing climate change. She passed an amendment to the Farm Bill that increased funding for protecting wildlife habitats across the country. She has also championed updating the nation’s dam infrastructure, including the “3 Rs:” rehabilitating dams to improve public safety; retrofitting non-powered dams to increase clean energy production; and removing dams that have outlived their useful life to restore rivers to their natural condition. Representative Kuster has earned a 95% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
