Suzanne Bonamici

Representative Suzanne Bonamici is running for a fifth  term to represent Oregon’s 1st Congressional District. She was first elected in a January 2012 special election, and prior to serving in Congress, she spent almost five years in the Oregon State House and Senate. She has been a leader in drawing attention to the effects of climate change on oceans, such as ocean acidification. Bonamici has worked to develop clean energy in Oregon including wind, solar, and tidal energy. She is also committed to protecting Oregon’s exceptional natural resources and public lands. Bonamici has stood up for climate science while holding a leadership position on the Environment Subcommittee of the Science, Space, and Technology Committee. Representative Bonamici has earned an outstanding 98% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
