Representative Rashida Tlaib is running for a fourth term to represent Michigan’s 13th Congressional District. In 2008, she was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives and served three terms, and she will be the first Muslim woman in Congress. She has been a leader in addressing pollution in Detroit, including taking on the Koch brothers over toxic petcoke, and oil and trucking companies over air pollution. In Congress she will continue her focus on environmental justice issues. Representative Tlaib has earned an impressive lifetime score of 97% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
